The Marshall Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of:

 

ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER

​

The Marshall Police Department is looking for qualified persons interested in working as an entry-level police officer.

First: If you already have a P.O.S.T. license and working as a Peace Officer, we are offering a $5,000.00 signing incentive.

Second: If you are 21 years of age, High School Diploma or GED, have vision correctable to 20/20 in each eye, pass written and physical tests, be of good character (background investigation), and are interested in attending a law enforcement academy.  The City of Marshall will pay the cost to attend the police academy and pay you a $18.00 an hour stipend while you attend the academy. Upon successful completion of the academy, we will offer you a $5000.00 signing incentive.

Duties include Uniform patrol, traffic enforcement, community-oriented policing, and other duties as assigned.

Benefits: Benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement, vacation, overtime, holidays, sick days, and longevity pay. The Police Department supplies uniforms, leather gear, and bullet-resistant vests.

Salary: Starting salary is $46,280.00 (annually) with normal increases to $47,320.00, for promotion to a second-class officer within 6 months and $48,360.00 within one year of hire with promotion to a first-class officer.
